Default Firefox Users.

I normally use Firefox as my browser - but recently I've had problems with it running very slowly. At the beginning of this month Firefox was upgraded and that's when the problems started. My computer was using so much of it's virtual memory in order to run Firefox it became almost impossible to surf the net.

I'm currently back using IE again - without any problems. Has anyone else suffered from these problems with Firefox?

Question

No my Firefox browser is working fine.

Try clicking 'Help' on your menu bar and then 'Check For Upgrades'.

Also click 'Tools' then 'Add-ons' and update all your Add-ons.

You never know it might help and also try clearing all your cookies too.

If it's the same, then you could uninstall and reinstall it.

If you leave your computer switched on 24/7 as I do (cable broadband connection) then Firefox does have a memory leak which makes it grow in size until it slows down quite noticeably. Every few days I have to stop it and start it again

I had this problem too but a java update and Flash update seemed to do the trick.

U wasn't aware of the memory leak so thanks for that info Steve, my PC runs constantly also so that's very handy advice.

I discovered that there was a conflict between Super AntiSpyware (this uses a lot of resources) and Firefox. I had to uninstall and reinstall Firefox to rectify the problem - and uninstall Super AntiSpyware.
