The last Tevion DVD player I bought four years ago in the UK from Aldi (Region 2) did not need a hack - it played all regions immediately, and pretty well anything else I threw at it. It has been a miraculous machine but last week expired.
Now I have just bought another Tevion from Aldi - HDMI DVD player DVD3602UKT - and I cannot get it to play Region 1 discs in NTSC format. I have seen on the internet that several people with the same model (but a month or so back) have suggested entering 9999 and 9 (for Region 1) or 9999 and 0 (for All regions). I am going quietly mad trying to get the Tevion to accept these, but with no luck. Has anybody had experience with this make and suggest another combination, please? Thanks. |

Have got got the drawer open when you enter the code? You have to have it open, enter the code and then wait a few seconds before pressing 9 again and then closing the drawer.

Marlocki is almost there
Do this: Open Tray Press 9999 on the remote Wait 2 seconds Press 9 for region free Close Tray. I'd suggest powering it down at the wall socket before you do anything just in case it already has numbers entered from your previos attempts. Bear in mind that if you have any RCE discs that region free won't play them. In this case do the above but press 1 for Region 1, 2 for region 2 rather than the 9 for region free. Open the tray.
Type 2,4,0,3,9,6,0. Your region will be shown. Press enter to cycle to region 9 (region free). Close the tray. Turn the player off. Turn it back on. |

Ah, sorry. I misinterpreted what you needed there.
Unfortunately you can't make a non-DivX player read DivX files. You'll have to use software like Nero or TMPeg to convert the files to VOB on your PC and then play the DVD on your player. |

DivX dvd players are pretty cheap these days, and perhaps one would help your recorder last longer?
Why not have a stab at reformatting? Dvdflick is free and easy to use - well worth a quick try. Nothing to lose. Or you could watch on your PC. Or if you have a laptop (or your PC is close to your TV) you could hook it up directly with a few cheap cables and maybe an adaptor. |
