I went on the obligatory trek around the sales this morning and decided on a spur of the moment purchase.
I've upgarded my DVD player and bought a PANASONIC DMP-BD35 Blu-Ray Disc Player. I haven't set it up yet but the picture quality looked great in the store and it upscales to 1080p (ratherthan 1080i like my old machine). I'm going to recable my surround system first to get the most out of the HD audio decoder which is capable of 7.1 so I'll be dragging an extra pair of speakers downstairs too. Has anyone got their BD Live system operational? I'm wondering if the online content on Blu Ray discs is worth stringing an ethernet cable to the machine so I can access it? It would have been much easier if the player had a wireless connection available. Review Here |

I have the BD-60 and I find BD-Live works for some discs and not others. However, its worth linking a cable up for firmware upgrades and Viera Cast which lets you browse Youtube and hopefully the BBC I-player soon.

Thanks ican, might not really be worth hooking up just yet seeing a as I have full browsing available wirelessly via the PlayStation 3 which I use for YouTube, Yahoo Music and the various iPlayers.
I haven't got very many BluRay discs yet so will probably waut until I next redecorate before running cables. |

I bought Sony BDP-S360 with three films, Terminator Salvation, Slumdog Millionaire and Angels and Demons for £99.99 in Comet. I ordered it online to pick up at the store. I was previously looking at it in the Comet store where it was priced at £149. I did not expect to get the three films at the price I paid.
On my last holiday in Florida, I bought Stargate on Bluray for my son to try on his Playstation 3. I have now tried it on the player I bought and it plays fine. Now I do not know at present whether the disc is region free or the player. Been looking at Bluray discs and there doesn`t seem to be many of the type of films I like available and also find the discs expensive at present. Howse |
