Default Help needed from America

My husband wants to copy all our old Super 8 movies onto DVD, however, he only just got started and the projector lamp blew.

I'm having trouble getting another one. An ebay seller in Queensland has them at an exorbitant price; another ebay seller in the UK has them at a fair price, but the postage (for two lamps) is horrendous at £24.99!

I enquired at an American site, topbulb.com, but have had no reply to two emails and I can't find any other American seller online. I believe the postage cost from America would be nowhere near as high as from the UK/Europe, so I'm foucssing on getting a couple from there somehow.

This is what I need:

8mm MOVIE PROJECTOR HALOGEN LAMP
12v 100w EFP
DICHROIC XENOPHOT 64627 BY OSRAM
SUITS MOST 8mm MOVIE PROJECTORS

Can anyone help in any way, please?

Thanks,
Shirley

It probably would be easier to get another super 8 projector and it would be better if you could find a buyer locally so you can check it out. If you can find a working used one, they're not very expensive, but be certain it's working. I have my father's projector, but it's not super.

I can get it for you from the US website, and send it on to Oz. No problem.

Or you could try to get in contact with Osram Australia.

And there's this seller from the US. I've no idea what the postage would be though. But at least they're a bit closer to you, being based in California.

Yes, that's the one I saw - the price is ludicrous! The one in California is a better price - I'll pass that on to my husband.

Good idea to phone Osram - I don't know why we didn't think of that in the first place! We'll do that first and see how we go. Thanks, Nick.

Many thanks for that offer, Robert - very kind of you.

I checked the Topbulb website again and found a phone number for overseas enquiries. I guess that's why they didn't reply to my emails. They have the best price... USD 9.99, so if Osram Australia can't help, we'll phone and enquire if they ship to Australia. If not, I'll send you a PM to make arrangements.
