name='tvden']where you lead DB I will follow !!

Prices quoted on the site are:

£3.99 for 2 DVDs per month (1 at home at a time)

£5.99 for 3 DVDs per month (1 at home at a time)

£7.99 for 4 DVDs per month (2 at home at a time)

£9.99 for 6 DVDs per month (3 at home at a time)

That's not bad as I rarely view more in a month.

the £3.99 would be a good top up rental for me, and I must admit Amazon look to have a really good large list of rentals Blockbuster have been lacking in some of the titles that I want

well I thought I would keep you all informed of how since I changed to Blockbuster !! it has performed and whilst not as bad as Love film a week after the free trial was over sure enough the shenanigans started, first off they stopped sending me stuff from the top few on my list !!! I have the two at a time unlimited rental package, why they call it this is wrong for it is not unlimited, twice this week they have only sent out I disc instead of two, explanation my 40 disc choice is not enough, this morning I got my disc and when I took it out it was completely smashed but no damage to the packing ??? rang customer services at 9 this morning and was assured they would send another disc out today, ha ha they never even bothered !!!! I felt a prat for even believing them,

so out of the six discs I expected this week I got only 3 with one that did not play and one smashed and one missing as they could not bother to send it, I shall give them a mouthfull in the morning as customer services are open till 12, not that it will do any good my billing comes up on the 15 of this month and I will be canceling my account, I am paying for two films at a time and not getting them !!! after all if you went and put a gallon of petrol in your car and the garage charged you for two I dont expect you would be very happy, also the state of there discs is disgusting, and you have to polish like mad to even get them to play !!my only consolation that when they have mucked everyone about they will go out of business.

that was very difficult to read because you've hardly bothered putting in any punctuation and it makes the post seem like you are out of breath anyway you should have stuck to tesco because they are still performing

I reckon Blockbuster is the best online rental service because if you rent a tv series that comes on 2 DVD's it counts as 1 selection, unlike other rental services such as LoveFilm who only send 1 disc at a time from a tv series.

I have 2 online rental accounts with Blockbuster & LoveFilm, although LoveFilm seems to be a pain in the backside on recieving returned DVD's, I have had about 7 discs go missing which ive sent back, this only happens when I return 2 or 3 in the same envelope, so now i've gone back to returning 1 disc per envelope.

Strewth... I tend to watch at least 15-20 movies per month ... I'll stick to buying.

PS... I used to watch many more movies before I had children. I'd often watch three movies back to back in a night... that's in the past now. Mind you, earlier this week I watched three movies together in a night... but that's rare now.

If plans work out, I'll be watching two movies tonight.

I phoned Blockbuster this morning and they have given me 2 more weeks free rental so I feel a little better towards them, so they get the benefit of the doubt at the moment,

They did however tell me they have been losing loads of discs lately, whereby if you have sent back more than one disc in a single envelope when they receive them, there is only one in the envelope, I sent back two and they only got one !! so thought I still had the other disc, the envelopes are very easy to open and reseal it does not take much imagination to know what is in these type of envelopes how true all this is I dont know

instead of renting dvds i use virgin media on demand channel to pay for movies and watch directly from my own tv.... (dvds will always be scratched!!!!!)

But the only problem is the limited selection of movies and the fact that you can only watch them once....

USA had 9 different mail-order DVD rental services in 2005 and 2006, and now I see we're down to 6. Unfortunately, the World's Worst One is still out there, fleecing the Great Unwashed Masses with every excuse in their Poor Service Manual (also known as "How IntelliFlix Can Rip Off Customers Month After Month").

All of the vendors make "overnight" claims but then blame the mail-system for all delays. Which is OK until one such vendor really DOES deliver overnight in both directions, and none of the others do.

And only one of our vendors talks about "the processing cycle" as being more meaningful to customers than "overnight shipment".

The processing cycle for NetFlix is generally 3 days. On Monday, customers receive their DVDs, and return them that afternoon or evening. They are received Tuesday morning, and the second wave of DVDs is shipped out. On Day 3 - Wednesday - the customer receives replacements.

    A 3-day processing cycle.

The fact that NetFlix can do this over and over with consistency is why they market this "processing cycle" more than mere "overnight delivery".

We've also learned that location of the processing center is critical for speedier mail, but it's up to the vendor to Receive & Process Next Order. I think that's where a lot of customer disservice can occur.

It's also the part of the processing cycle where vendors can 'throttle' customers and avoid sending them more DVDs, making all kinds of claims of 'shipping delays' and 'product unavailable' excuses.

I could prob tell them all about it, I have now ditched Blockbuster after I became a nervous wreck, they did just about everything they could to get out of sending me discs, the last straw was when I thought I had got a nice film and when I looked it was an Elvis Presley disc !!! ouch and when I sent it back they denied getting it at one point they had had to give me me so much credit for there mistakes, that they were PAYING me, ok so I am back at Tesco I signed up and they never bothered sending me my first discs so trouble before I had even started and they then had to give me 5 days credit welcome home, the only thing to compare between these CLOWNS is who can treat there customers the worst and send out the least discs

Glad to see you have had a positive experience,I had looked at using Amazon but was put off by the limited amount of discs you can get each month !!! from what I can deduce they work out at £1.70 each on a deal and if you want extra they are £1.99 each still quite good as this includes postage, but I do tend to rent the unlimited deals as you get far more discs per month if everything works as it should but rarely does, but of course you get tons more hassle and have to keep swapping providers

renting dvd's by post. Here in Canada, several companies have established themselves,Blockbust,Wal Mart and so on. I joined one,Blockbuster,as for the quality of some of the dvd's,it appeared some had been run over by a car or bus. Some were scratchy. After two months i canceled my service. They must have given my e-mail address to other firms, they keep emailing me. Also,a have had telemarketing firms ring me up. Well, that will not last much longer, the no call registry will go into effect, like in the US,where telemarketing firms can no longer ring you up.
