DVD region change

2. WAIT FOR “ NO DISC “ TO APPEAR ON YOUR DVD PLAYER SCREEN

3. USING YOUR REMOTE CONTROL PRESS: REPEAT 5-6-7-3-2-9 CONSECUTIVELY

4. THEN PRESS THE OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON ON YOUR DVD PLAYER

5. NOW TRY A DVD DISC FROM A DIFFERENT REGION





IF THIS IS NOT PROVING SUCESSFUL RESET THE DVD PLAYER BY PRESSING STOP AND PLAY BUTTONS ON THE REMOTE CONTROL FOR 5 SECONDS SIMULTANEOUSLY, DON’T FORGET TO REMOVE ANY DVD DISCS IN THE DRAWER. THEN TRY STEPS 2 – 4 AGAIN.

Are these instructions meant to work for any DVD player, or just for one make or model? What about ones in different countries? I can't try them because mine plays DVDs from any region anyway.

Every model requires its own Region Hack. If you go to VideoHelp's hack section and type in your model name and number it MAY be hackable (many are not). If they don't list a hack for your exact model, try the various hacks for other models by the same maker. Most manufacturers don't use a separate firmware for every model and will likely use the same settings for several different products.

As far as your computer drive is concerned the only way to re-set the region is to re-format and re-install Windows. However there is a DVD Software player available that will handle any region code with no need to change the drive setting. I use it and it works flawlessly.

Lap tops sadly often only have the one DVD drive/ burner. On a PC you can often run with more than one drive then you simple set each to a different region.

Or just not use the Micro$oft Meeja Player. Other players, like the VLC player mentioned above let you change between different regions as often as you want. The limit to the number of times you can change region is built into the player, not the drive.

Yes this site is very good indeed, Sony machines seem to be its only area were you need a bit more skill with using programmable remotes to set up the hack!

Yes this is for ALL DVD players and works very well with all my friends players, saves them money on buying multi regional. Pass the info around, I will be keen to know how others get on.
