Just purchased this recorder to replace Freeview/w80GB Hard Drive.

Plugged it in to new 37" Orion LCD HD ready TV as per manual(and previous Freeview box) - set up auto - got pictures on all Freeview channels no probs BUT - no sound??

Tried all different scart connections and AV's but still no sound.

    Is the unit faulty?

Update to my question - placed a recorded DVD in machine and it played perfectly with sound??????

    (scratching head!!)

    regards

    Terry

Have you tried using gold plated audio/video/scart leads, I know they are slightly expensive but well worth the experience. I use them in my equipment with no problems at all.

Try changing back to your original leads.

    Hi Lord

Thanks for your reply. I haven't tried gold scarts but have used original scarts.
