I want to copy from VHS to DVD using this recorder but although I've followed Aldburys advice I'm not getting a picture only sound (occasionally a flicker of something but no picture). Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I have the VHS player connected to the DVD burner connected to my TV. Thanks for any advice.

hi
have you tryed the recording sauce. button on my old recorder you haft to
let the recorder know where it is recording from . front,side or the back of the machine with the cables
if you can here the movie your playing your not that fay away
hope this is of some help ...... mw

No you can use it on a DVD recorder if you wish; it was developed when S-VHS machines were made available as they recorded in 400 lines horizontal resolution compared to normal VHS that only achieved 250 lines. Could someone please tell me how to connect the dvd recorder to the video with a macro copy decoder. We also have cable tv so am not sure how to connect everything up so I can back the videos up onto the dvd recorder.

I have recently bought exactly the same dvd recorder and have exactly the same problem. I have checked all the connections and they seem correct. Omega F - has your problem been rectified or can anyone else help?

Hi,

I've got the same problem.

I had an issue with the interlacing/progressive screen as mentioned on the previous page and lost my picture and phoned the helpdesk.

They managed to help me fix it but said that it's not possible to record from VHS to DVD on this machine. Not sure if that's true, but I certainly can't get it to work - I just get sound coming through from the VHS when I set it all up.

Anyone managed to resolve this?

depends on what is on the vhs tapes. many vhs tapes,movies released by the major film studios have copyguard protection in them,this,no doubt,will cause the dvd to come out either distorted picture,problems with the colour,and so on. if the vhs tapes are programms recorded from the telly or holiday tapes recorded on a camcorder,their should be no problem.

I have now taken my vcr player out of the equation and hooked the dvd recorder to my tv and Sky box. I get exactly the same problem with Sky - I can record sound but not picture. Seems to be a problem with the dvd recorder, not video player/tape.
