    Hi everyone

Looking for a little for my ex. He has a wharfedale that he has been using successfully for the past two years, but is now having a problem with.

There is no picture anymore, sound is fine, but he is unable to bring up the menu either. The remote is still sending signals, so I don't think that is a problem. We have tried replacing the two scart lead connections thinking that maybe the leads have a break in them somewhere. I went over there yesterday to go through some of the trouble shooting tips to no avail.

He recently bought a Technosonic LCD32031D TV and for a short time all was fine and the dvd player was working fine with it. but now the DVD player seems to have lost its picture. Is this just a case that the unit has lived it's life and he needs to replace it, or are we possibly missing something in the set up between the two? I even had him re-programming )albeit on auto find) the channels just in case for some weired reason the TV had flipped out and half lost the channel.

It does say in the trouble shooting guide that sometimes certain DVD's can cause the system to crash, but it doesn't then go on to say how you re-boot the hard drive, so I assume it re-boots every time you turn the system on?

So in brief, the wharfedale was working but has no picture showing now, new equipment is the 32" LCD tv though the two did work successfully together for about two months.

Anyway, I seem to be rambling somewhat, so shall just sit quietly now and hope that someone here has experienced this and knows how to sort it out.

    Thanks

I have had this problem with dvd recorders not a Wharfedale though and I am afraid it meant a little trip to the littel fixerman down the road. However within a short time I then found I couldn't record and the little fixerman said he could do nothing with the recorder so it just became a DVD/video player. It seems to me that 2 years is the maximum you can expect from this sort of equipment these days.
