Do you have a PC or Mac?

I use Mac the Ripper and Toast without any problems - I'm sure there must be plenty of PC wallahs on here that could help you further.

I'd recommend DVD Fab Decrypter - I've yet to run into anything that it couldn't handle - including ARccOS.

Oops!!!! I see Finland have prohibited it (Fab is a Finnish company) so it's no longer available as a download from this site. There should be lots of other freeware mirror sites where it's available but if you have any trouble send me a PM and I'll e-mail it to you.

We will see encryption and copy-protect schemes come along a few times each year, so I don't pretend that today's favorite software will work on tomorrow's discs. I use DVD FAB DECRYPTER and it gets updated quite a bit, but one of these days, it won't.

But there are other freebie products to choose from - it's just a matter of me being mentally agile enough to convert from one package's methods to the other's verbage. And that's usualyl a monumental challenge for me!

The freebie DVD FAB DECRYPTER is kind of tough to locate. Links change almost daily, it seems, but I usually have a fairly recent version to email, if needed.

i have a Sima model ct-1 that works perfectly, the problem,it is sold in the USA,the only thing you will have to do is purchase a mains unit for it,if you plug the USA unit into the mains, good by mains unit,Canada and US. use 110-120 voltage by chance,my mobile unit recharger which is dual voltage works fine. this unit,i have had no problems copying pal or ntsc dvd's. Their e-mail custsev@simacorp.com,perhaps they have european outlets. cheers, ronald larkin

Problem with DVD Decrypter is that it won't copy DVD's from certain regions. Any DVD will. But after 21 days free trial, you have to buy the licence.

I have never tried this, but if you only occasionally copy DVD's would installing it, copying your DVD, and then using 'system restore' to remove it reset your trial period?

Unlikely, most people have already thought of that

Most application programmes install something hidden away somewhere that doesn't get removed when you uninstall it. That something tells the application when it was first installed.

Of course you could do a full system rebuild from the original installation DVDs. But is it worth it as you'd then have to install all the applications and documents that you want.

The page about DVD Decrypter says that it's freeware. People shouldn't make a charge for freeware
