    Has anybody a tried and trusted method or handy apps for converting this to avi?

    There's a method described here that should do the trick, using free apps.

    Good luck - i've struggled a bit with these in the past and usually ended up using an avisynth script in virtualdub to re-encode. By all means post again or pm if you hit a brick wall.

    Problem seems to be syncing the audio. I'll have a further tinker in the morn.
