    can someone here please i bought this to try to back my dvds up for the kids by putting them on the hard drive then "burning" them onto a blank disc the salesman in the shop said i could do this but no luck anybody help ? PLEASE ?

    If you're talking about copyright protected commercial dvds, i believe the saleman was fibbing. I think you'll have to use a PC and dvd decrypter + (usually) dvdshrink (or similar apps.) to do what you want to do. AFAIK this applies to all hdd dvd recorders.

    Hi Doug,

    there is a way around it. You can buy a macrovision copyright removal decoder. It's very simple to set up and they're on sale on the web, not too sure about the high street, but I am sure you'll be able to get one at a local pc fair.
