Try a search on "FLV to <name of preferred video type>" in your browser but be sure to read the reviews. Beware of one or two sites which only allow you to use the software if you download and install a program to allow you to receive junk mail.

As an example 'Any Video Converter' has a free version to try and seems to work well, having a preview window to play clips just in case you can't remember what the clip is about.

There are tons of FLV convertors out there so just try various ones to see what you get on well with. I'd guess that many of them have a PAL DVD option on their output sections.

Then finally use your DVD bundled software which should have come with a basic DVD Authoring package at least which will set you up with menus and stuff.

Another alternative is to download using:

KeepVid: Download and save any video from Youtube, Dailymotion, Metacafe, iFilm and more!

This is a website, and you connect to it and Youtube at the same time.

Select your youtube vid and copy the url from the address bar and paste it into the URL box in keepvid and click on download.

Wait for a short while and then scroll down to download links and select low or high quality.

I would recommend the high quality (mp4), which is only slightly larger than flv and is just as easy to work with.

You can the convert your file to DVD using this freeware:

    DVD Flick

This will convert and burn to disc in a single process.

Obviously it would be better to get a few files together to avoid disc wastage.

Totally agree, it seems that you can throw almost anything at DVD flick and it'll handle it. A program I love to use.
