I am having a very small problem with a piece of adware called MemoryWatcher. Despite having my pc set at it's highest security level, this little beast keeps coming back and interupting my internet connection.

At the moment I am using Zone Alarm Security Suite which does have spysite blocking, which is on, but this little bug keeps coming back. I have used Kasperskey on a few occasions to do a deep scan to route out this fiend if Zone Alarm fails to find it, but it keeps coming back. Any ideas on how to keep it out would be greatfully appreciated.

    Many thanks

To Remove Memory Watcher from your machine, please follow the following instructions:

Click Start from the task bar.

    Click Control Panels.

    Click Add or Remove Programs.

Find MemoryWatcher in the list, and click the remove button. If MemoryWatcher is not in the list, please download the uninstaller using the link below.

    Click the Uninstall button.

Other programs to try to get rid of adware ....

    Adaware (free version)

Spybot (free version) - run both of these; neither do everything but they compliment each other

and as a last resort ...{gulp} .... {cough} ... {hack} ... it hurts to admit this ..... Windows Defender from Micro$$$oft can be helpful sometimes.

You could also try using 'Revo Uninstaller' from Free Software Downloads and Reviews - Download.com Just type 'Revo' into their search engine.

You'll need to install 'Revo' which doesn't take long. Once you've done that the 'Revo' icon should be on your start page. Click that and you'll see everything that's installed on your computer - including unwanted adware. Click on 'Memory Watcher' to uninstall - it's recommended that you do a deep search - the highlighted programs can be checked, if you agree then you can delete them.

I use 'Revo' and it's a very good piece of software.

    Many thanks.

Just for clarity the piece of software is called 'Revo Uninstaller'.

Hi Edward and everyone else with excellent advice, but unfortunately no luck as this horrible piece of adware seems to make it's way onto my pc every time I went online, despite having my pc set at it's optimum security setting, but I know how what to look out for now.

But thanks to EHV for putting me wise with Revo Uninstaller as it shows that my security program did not even register with Revo and seemed to be the root cause of the problem and I have since reinstalled it and all is working as well as possible, he said laughing.

    Many thanks to everyone again.

It still sounds as if you are experiencing problems? You mentioned 'Security Program not registering with Revo Uninstaller' I'm confused as to exactly what you mean?

When I opened Revo it showed all my program files except that of Zone Alarm which is my security program. So I reinstalled Zone Alarm and all seems to be working well.

Oh I see what you mean.

I don't understand why Revo didn't show your Zone Alarm? Revo should have shown all your installed program's and software.

Was watching the Gadget show the other day and they where talking about hacking and the way he got into someones coputer was via the file and printer sharing option on your computer so to stop future problems i would switch this option off as its on as default

if you go into your Network connections

    right click your connection icon

    click proprrties

then unclick the file and printer sharing for mocrosoft networks

it wont get rid of any problems you already have but it may help in the future to stop they buggers getting in

Well it had to happen I suppose, my pc was invaded by a worm called Gark and it partly crashed the pc as it had invaded a registry key, that's why it was not picked up. But now I am back up and running again and thanks again to everyone for the few tips and great advice.

How did you remove this worm from your registry?
