    Techno-moron here.



    I put a bunch of clips from VHS onto a DVD. Then, I followed some advise I read here and used DVD Fab5 and downloaded the DVD onto my Laptop (almost completely succesfully). Now I have .vob files that my windows movie maker is unable to recognise or play. Sometimes it plays just 39 seconds if I'm lucky.



    It's driving me nuts!



    Can someone give me some advise, please?

    I think Mpeg Encoder and VirtualdubMob will convert vob's.

    If you've got a DVD drive in your computer did you get bundled software with it?



    It is possible that there is a save format option in the authoring part (after reading in the DVD title to that software you want to use) that includes Windows Media formats.

    WinAVI video converter will convert vob files to avi or wm - download a functioning trial version to try. WinAVI Free Download Now
