Can someone help, im looking to get a Sony HD dvd recorder, does anyone know if its right that i could record something, edit it and then burn it to a dvd, please help

Yup. Assume you mean a live tv recording.



Don't know Sony but Panasaonics have pretty good editing features: you can split a recording, name it, and chop out bits - then burn it onto a disc

I have the Toshiba version which also includes a vhs player.Great machine but it will not copy NTSC discs or tapes unlike other mACHINES.

I have a Sony DVD recorder. I'm reasonably happy with it. I can record from the TV and edit out the ads after. Records on hard drive or DVD. Nice black design.

I picked up a Funai combi from Ebay for under £100.

VCR plus 160GB hard drive.

Pleased with it.

Can edit etc.

Only con (so far) is it seems limited on the Rewritable discs it will accept

I have 2 Pioneer hard drive recorders and can recommend them highly. They will record and play RAM discs, and you can manually adjust the bit rate, which is handy for recordings which are longer than 2 hours.
