No complaints here. I get a fantastic picture with no break-ups. The pvr functionality is excellent, and I love the on-demand service.
It sounds as if you have a reception problem.
...and this digital age. Last night, after recovering ITV1 and Channel 4 - which my signal had lost - I tuned in for the European footy only to have the picture consistently breaking up and freezing on ITV1....I ended up watching it on the kitchen telly on good old analogue (a successfully working technology which Tessa Jowell and her chums have decided to kill off. Burkes.).
Tonight I find BT has seemingly discontinued Sky channels, including Sky Sports News, so I'll be back to the 'scan for channels' mechanism soon.
Is anyone else having this kind of trouble.
Oh for the days when analogue brought us four channels without any fuss

Yes BT Vision drove me mad too, and the recordings were also bad because they didn't seem to link to the shows themselves, just the timings - so the first bit would often be missing...
Havent any personal experience of BT vision but suspected there would be problems with the service.
I still use sky and have freeview so one system is usually working.
Tend to watch more DVD's these days though and listen to DAB planet rock as I find all the adverts extremely wearing.
The breaking up of picture or freezing does sound like connection problems.....I agree though....terrestrial system did work....I think the digital system will have the output power increased as soon as analogue is switched off but if they did that at present it will affect existing reception

I have had BT vision since last September. Not a bad service. However, I have the TV and Replay packages, which seem, at times to have a few teething problems - Programmes on the TV package do not show the complete versions of some TV dramas such as with Life on Mars I noticed that bits have been cut out for content. Also, on Replay, although such repeats are listed, you get told that these programmes are currently unavailable and to try again later.
Well I got fed up with sky and had a call from BT about their Vision service. Explained I had no wireless etc so they are giving me free kit for both and a 10 day trialn then 3 months at around £7 ish. I wanted a wireless hub anyway and this will give me a chance to try the service. The Home Hub arrived this morning and is up and running on cable so far. I'll report back with findings if anyone is interested, if its no good just watch for a small nuclear explosion in Notts ...

put it this way-a friend of mine works for BT and can get BT vision for free yet chose to subscribe with SKY instead because of how crap BT vision is!
BT were awful. My broadband went down on December 24th.They kept on saying that they had fixed it when they had not.I joined Tiscali on Jan 1st.BT refused to send someone out to finalise the repair and left me for 15 days without Broadband, and then tried to charge me for that period.I refused to pay the bill and the matter is now in the hands of Otelo, the ombudsman.I have had countless phone calls and letters from debt collectors.even if Tiscali go to the wall i will never go back to BT.
I had a similar problem with a 3rd party broadband supplier who wouldnt fix the fault and still wanted paying. I have been back with BT for over 2 years and had good service. Has to be working as i use it for work as well.

BT let me down badly over my Broadband connection and I was off for over a fortnight. Initially I was told it was my router that was at fault - it wasn't and I had to make over 30 calls to get the fault rectified. I was then billed for the period that I was offline after being assured this would not happen. I lost my temper very badly when complaining about being billed and being told that I would only be refunded for 10 days not the full duration. I did not let this matter drop and after complaining vigorously was told that they would make an exception and refund me for 16 days - such generosityIt was no less than I deserved.
Am seriously thinking of changing supplier - any suggestions ?

The current Which Magazine recommendations are O2 and Zen - I switched to O2 and it was extremely painless and in a year I've had no downtime or problems at all. Leaving Pipex on the other hand

Virgin do my phone, TV & broadband. They took over from BlueYonder who in turn took over from someone else. That's all on a fibre optic cable.
I've had very few problems with Virgin.
I mainly work from home so I'm online 24/7
They keep things updated as the technology improves and I find their prices to be reasonable and their service to be very good

I haven't had any problems with my either. I really enjoy the On-Demand, and the movies aren't bad either..
