Default Shane Meadows Next Film

Anyone know when this is due out? Was told it's around the Northern Soul scene as he is a fan. In which case I am looking forward to this very impatiently.

IMDB lists a short film (30 mins) directed by Shane Meadows in 2004 with a title of 'Northern Soul', but it is described as a mockumentary about wrestling.

This Is England suggests that Meadows was a skinhead in the early 1980s -- not sure if he could have been into Northern Soul as well, but I'd love to see his take on it.

Somers Town is revued in the current issue of Screen International. Starring Thomas Turgoose it is described as a slight but charming comedy and is the story of a young Northern lad who runs away from Nottingham to London. Somers Town is apparently the area around Kings Cross where Thomas falls in with the son of a Polish immigrant who also has family problems. The revue is quite favourable and Meadows is looking for a theatrical release but the problem is that the film is only 68 minutes long which makes it very difficult to fit into a normal cinema programme

I'm sure that Somers Town wiil turn out to be interesting and it might well be attractive for use in various education courses. Perhaps some enterprising soul could find a way to release it on DVD with some of Shane's other short films?

Somers Town is mentioned here. Apparently started life as a short for Eurostar but is now feature length.
It's a brief trip but Turgoose will go far - Scotsman.com Living
