Haven't read the book of this so went in with a neutral mind.

On the plus side - uniformly good performances and reasonably compelling - beautiful to look at

Minus side - Worked it all out too easily & found it uninvolving

    5/10

I don't think it's meant to be a mystery. You know fairly early in the book what the school and children are for and what their ultimate fate is - the relevation is what the pictures are used for which I do think is genuinely shocking . But it's true that Ishiguro, while brilliant, does tend to be uninvolving because his narrator is always a character emotionally detached from the rest of the world whether a repressed butler or a repressed sci fi schoolgirl or a repressed Japanese businessman. I do like his stuff but if your expecting an action movie/book, you'll be disappointed. The three central perfomances were very good though

i enjoyed this film enormously, and it had me in tears towards the end, we managed to work out what was going on too. brilliant performances from all the cast, especially Andrew Garfield.
