I digress but doesn't Martin Shaw just keep getting better looking as he gets older?
It appears they are remaking this as a movie and after a bit of googling have seen the names of Gerard Butler and Liam Neeson bandied about. Someone put me out of my misery and poo poo this ridiculous casting rumour.
There may be rumours but nobody has been definitely attached to the proposed film version as yet

What a great idea. But instead of a remake, make it an update. A bit like New Tricks but with shootouts and punch ups. Doyle playing all new man very PC and Bodie playing well , Bodie. But only if they get Shaw and Collins to play Bodie and Doyle.

I don`t think the film will do very well, it was of it`s time. It will be totally different and is probably, like the `Italian job` remake, is just riding on the name.

I.e the article about Lewis Collins. Typical of any newspaper to catch someone who is having a casual day and not looking their best. He`s aged, big deal! I bet if he bagged a part in a big budget fiilm, if they got him in the make up department and put him in smart clobber he would look more than fine. The public need to wake up and know that NO actor walks around in their everyday lives looking like they do on the screen.

    Stupid articles by desperate papers!

God no no no! They are both far too old! They could both star in a UK remake of Tough Guys though. . .

Think Martin Shaw and Lewis Collins are probably more suited to playing Cowley now!

The Professionals should be left alone, it was a classic series, come on, who in their right mind could replace the lovely Lewis Collins.

Seems to be the only way of making films these days, by doing remakes. The article is fairly typical too, highlight any negatives, but I find it personally annoying or maybe irritating that the articles are written by people who obviously have no interest or knowledge of the subjects or their work. Hope Lewis makes it over here sometime and does the rounds on the memorabilia fairs, that tends to bring out the true fans.

(It might be as successful as the Avengers!)

There was a remake in 1999, The New professionals, but I haven't seen any of the episodes.

Apart from being able to watch the lovely Lexa Doig, it's crap.
