Default Emma Watson joins 'Napoleon and Betsy'

Emma Watson joins 'Napoleon'
By Borys Kit

April 17, 2008

Emma Watson is attached to star in "Napoleon and Betsy," a period drama being written and directed by Benjamin Ross.

Watson will play Betsy Balcombe, a young, impetuous noblewoman trapped on the isolated British Isle of St. Helena who falls in love with Napoleon, who is in exile on the island.

Watson is filling the shoes recently vacated by Scarlett Johansson, who stepped aside as the part skewed younger.

Johansson is still producing, along with Alexandra Milchan, Melanie Sloan and Gilles Arondeau.

With filming of the last chapter, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," scheduled to commence in early 2009, Watson hopes to shoot "Napoleon and Betsy" in the fall.

I like the idea of a Boris Kit. Do you think it has a screw loose just like the original?

In the fall of 2020 She still looks about twelve years old

I like the story about Emily, having turned 18, being sent on a course for "young millionaires" before she gets her hands on the 10.5 million she's earned so far. Apparently it was a condition imposed by her parents.

The mind boggles that such courses exist

Err.... she was/is in Harry Potter and The Never Ending Series. I sat through one of them recently with my nieces and nephews, don't ask me which..........it had Imelda Staunton in it.

I think J.K. Rowling is great in that she insisted to the American backers that the films remain intriscally British.

Are you on the graveyardshift again?

Me too. I've been watching bits of 'Nicholas and Alexandra' on You Tube as I missed it on the T.V. last week.
