Hey, I'm all for women's lib and women's rights, as a male Yank, but this incarnation of Guinevere is downright sacrilegeous! I'm glad Ms. Knightley had the sense to dub her role as "scary" and to not look at it as a role model for women. The things that are done to appease the Hollywood gods! Aaaaargh!

Guinevere and Merlin were fictional characters added to the original legend some years later. The last account I read claimed that Arthur was a Russian so there's plenty of mileage left in Glastonbury's resident knight.
