Default The Singing Detective
Just heard a review on the radio here for the upcoming release of the American movie version of "The Singing Detective",which of course was a great hit on television.
I couldnt imagine how anyone could hope to top the TV series.
First impressions are that the movie starring Mel Gibson & Robert Downey Jnr.has failed to flatter with the reviewer panning it.
Some things should be left alone!

Yes, I agree that some things should be left alone.
I was disappointed with the film version of "Pennies from Heaven" starring Steve Martin; there are some good things in it but the original screenplay is shorn down to about a quarter of its original length (as well as having an American setting) and it just doesn't have the atmposphere of the BBC production.
