New Miss Marple (ITV1)

Does anybody know something about the times when the BBC will show the new Miss Marple films with Geraldine McEwan which have already been produced?

It's on ITV rather than the Beeb. I'd have thought McEwan might be a bit too whimsical for the role compared with Joan Hickson.

IMDb say release date UK is 2004. Which means if it is true within the next 10 weeks.

Rather than a film I think it's a mini-series of adaptations. ITV churn these detective series out at an astonishing rate. Morse... Taggart... Frost... some bloke out of Eastenders as a edgy private eye... [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif[/img]

The're going to vamp up her past with her having had an adulterous relationship and there will be flashback sequences showing her with the bloke.

As I posted earlier on,I feel we still have memories of Joan Hickson's Miss Marple for a new one. Geraldine McEwan is a fine actress bow no doubt,but Joan Hickson proved she IS Miss Marple and the BBC productions were beyond criticism bow bow .

You are , of course, absolutely right Gibbie! When oh when are they going to leave it all alone? Although only four people have voted on the latest site poll so far, I still believe the general opinion of forum members is to leave well alone, but , unfortunately if people still part with their cash to see this stuff, and there's profit to be made I think we're on a hiding to nothing! Perhaps someone will be a Mr. Rank and do their own start up, get finance, like Chariots, and do their own. You know with the iTunes world and the new digital via the Web thing, the music industry is changing and will never be what it was. Why not the movie industry. And, all this to do original pictures that will entertain, eliven the imagination and give people greater vision about life and don't forget a few laughs...

Perhaps we have a member who has such a vision.
