Do Not Adjust Your Set
Originally planned as a children's show 'Do Not Adjust Your Set' soon gained a large adult following. With music interludes by Neil Innes' Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and animations by Terry Gilliam the programme brought together some of the great writers and performers who would eventually create Monty Python.

At Last The 1948 Show
John Cleese, Graham Chapman and many more headline this historic comedy series, which directly preceded and inspired Monty Python. With every episode a string of wildly silly and hilarious sketches, it deserves to achieve immortal status.

I haven't seen these or at least I can't remember seeing them. Any good?

Cheers,
A

AT LAST was screened as part of TV Heaven (one episode) some time ago, but Cleese susequently claimed that this was not a 'kosher' ep, but one somebody had cobbled together from a series of disparate sketches... This was IIRC the only material said to be left at that point.

As to whether the new discs are any good, you might want to pop into the forum at http://www.the-mausoleum-club.org.uk/ to see if there's a review at some point. There's not one there now, but I have just learned that August will see the releases of MAY TO DECEMBER S1, with the lovely Eve Matheson...

Failing all else, my copies are in the post, so will let you know once i get to see 'em....

Well, I wandered through the first disc of DO NOT ADJUST YOUR SET across Friday/Saturday and am pleased to report I had several 'laugh out loud' moments. Very easy to see upcoming Python in quite a bit of it.

Of course Viv Stanshall & the Bonzos add a heck of a lot to it as well !

Am looking forward to savouring the second disc soon, then AT LAST.... subsequently.

So it's so far...

Thanks for the half-time report S. From what I've read it looks as if it's worth getting.
Cheers,
