I've been looking for new indie UK films being released to see what's outthere

Mainly because I've been in blockbuster a few times and have seen british films
going straight to video..
(great no wonder we have a crap film industry)

a really intresting film is coming out in september called Room 36, from the makers of Revenge of billy the kid.

I saw a preview of 'On a Clear Day' today. It's a very likeable little film, with a strong central performance from Peter Mullan as a man who is made redundant after thirty six years in the shipyards and sets out to find a new way of proving himself. Nothing spectacular, though.

At present, the film I recommend most highly is 'Asylum'. It's really intelligent, densely plotted, and far more complicated that it looks, but none of this detracts from its emotional punch. It features a career-best performance from Natasha Richardson.

I recently saw a new Scottish comedy movie at a BAFTA preview called "GamerZ". It was fucking awesome. Not sure if its to go on general release or not, but I really recommend everyone try and seek it out. It was totally off-the-wall. Really original stuff.
