Gordon and Hatcher Reunite on Pauper

The Casanova team of producer Mark Gordon and screenwriter Jeffrey Hatcher will develop an adaptation of Mark Twain's literary classic The Prince and the Pauper. The project is at Sony which has an overall deal with Mark Gordon Productions. Variety says the aim is to achieve a tone comparable to that of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl while remaining faithful to the storyline of look-alikes from opposite ends of the social spectrum who trade places for a night in 16th-century London. Gordon is also readying the Robert Rodat-scripted Olympia; a remake of Bunny Lake Is Missing, with Reese Witherspoon starring.
