I saw it at the cinema a few years ago. Spectacular and exciting, I can wholeheartedly recommend a big screen viewing of this one.
Hitchcock's classic thriller "North By North West" is released on friday 19th June at the BFI Southbank London and at the Curzon Mayfair. It will also be showing at the Edinburgh Filmhouse in July as well as several other regional independent cinemas. Be good to see this on a big screen as it was originally shot in Vista Vision which is a larger film format than standard so projection quality should be superior.

Just returned from the Curzon.
I'd forgotten how protracted and boring the movie becomes once they all convene near Rushmore.
Total snooze-fest.
HOWEVER...Cary Grant is a delight.
Saul Bass's opening is thrilling
Bernard Herrmann is sensational (as always)...and sounds like Philip Glass at times !
James Mason is the perfect slimeball
Ernest Lehman snap, crackles and pop...well, untill the final reel !
Martin Landau never looked so elongated ( he actually reminded me of Stephen
Merchant)
......and Eva Marie Saint, she actually looks like my girlfriend !
N'night

It's a great film to see on the big screen - I'll never forget the film starting just as I was taking my seat at the NFT1 back in '85.
The best of Hollywood - don't miss it!
So many good 'lines' in the film too! (Forgive any that are not verbatim.)
'Roger, pay the two dollars!'
'How about this guy Charlie, he sent for us!'
'That wasn't very sporting using real bullets!'
'Bulletted! Mr Kaplan has dandruff.'
'Leonard? A libation.'
'How do we know it isn't a fake?'
'There'a a plane dusting where there are no crops.'
one of my favourite films, rumours are circulating that this film will be released on the blue ray disc. With my new 50 inch HD telly set,the picture will be brilliant.

What! Those are some of the best scenes Hitchock ever designed. The tension as they clamber like insects over the rocks and the scene where Martin Landau starts to stamp on Grant's hands only to be shot down. It's breath-taking. And you've got to love that wicked ending as the scene shifts from Eva Marie-Saint dangling from a rock only to be lifted into sleeping couch of a train.
I caught the rerelease at the weekend in the NFT. What a beautiful crisp print , It really topped off Fathers day for me.
As for the snooze fest portion of the film ,my wife reverted to peeking between the fingers at that portion of the film despite having seen it at least 6 times .
