Exciting news! I trust you'll report back on whether they are worth buying. Do we know why these films have had releases in France?
A French company, Opening, has released some DVDs in a series called "Les films de ma vie" (The films of my life)
These include 3 early and one late Michael Powell film

Since you need to import the French trilogy, it might be cheaper to buy The Phantom Light and Red Ensign as part of [ame="http://www.amazon.ca/Classic-British-Thrillers-Phantom-Upturned/dp/B00177Y9WA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1257459247&sr=8-3"]this package[/ame]. Presumably Steve can confirm if the print is the same. I've only bought the French Fire Raisers which looks fine but which comes with non-optional French subtitles (if you watch it on tv though you can switch them off on a PC)
There are a lot of people in France who admire Powell and his filmsname='didi-5']Exciting news! I trust you'll report back on whether they are worth buying. Do we know why these films have had releases in France?

I was really just reporting a new DVD release, not saying that they were preferable in any way. There are also a few DVD releases of They're a Weird Mob. The best one of those is the Australian (PAL; Region 4) release on the Roadshow label. That includes the documentary The Story of The Making Of They're a Weird Mob. See EZY DVD site. Currently out of stock there but that's already the 2nd run of them that they've made.
