name='paul clifton']im pretty sure on the se dvd for League of gents, that Bryan Forbes commentry mentions that its a portrait of Kerr
Oh it's a portrait of Deborah Kerr all right. And at a glance it's very similar to the one used in Blimp. But is it the same portrait?

name='Number Six']A little bit of trivia for you - the portrait of his wife hanging on the wall next to him as he makes that comment is actually the portrait of Deborah Kerr that was originally used in The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943).

There must be an in joke about this somewhere - Jack ... Deborah

Regarding the excellent Jack Hawkins, does anybody know if the "DD Video" DVD of GIDEON'S DAY ever came out, even on pre-release? I had mine on order but the company went under around the day of release. Blockbuster have always had this "DD" DVD on their list but they've never sent it to me so far (fingers eternally crossed). I already have the edited US print Gideon Of Scotland Yard but I'd like the unedited UK version too.

According to the information I've been looking at, it is still waiting for release for some reason. (I didn't realise this film was directed by John Ford and the screenplay was written by the excellent T.E.B. Clarke).
