Hi Christine, the Long Arm is a film that is much superior to Gideons Day imho

We are in agreement here stevieboy ... The Long Arm is a good, solid crime drama, while IMHO Gideon's Day is seriously flawed by the 'domestic' scenes. Both are worth watching though.

Bats.

I wish I had claws.

Agree with Bats. The Long Arm is a very good film with quite a gripping story. And good location shots in London - Long Acre in the opening scenes and the Festival Hall for the climax. Along the way Hawkins and his sidekick get up to north Wales to a garage that stood over the road to the Pen Y Gwryd Hotel between Capel Curig and Llanberis. As it was not considered by the authorities to be an appropriate building for a National Park, the garage was pulled down a few years ago. Shame - every time I passed it, I expected to see Meredith Edwards on the petrol pumps.
