Could be presales for Trevor EVE remake.

This seems strange. Are they rereleasing the original 1970s Bouquet Of Barbed Wire on DVD?
It says here that it's 'To be released September 20th 2010'...but there's nothing about it on amazon & why would they release just the first series?

No, it's the original series they have there.
And so soon after James Aubrey's death too.name='SwingingLondon' date='07 June 2010 - 01:23 PM' timestamp='1275913386' post='436718']

According to play.com, the Trevor Eve series is due for release on 27/9/2010: Bouquet Of Barbed Wire
I have the Prime release of original Bouquet with its sequel in one box-set. I wonder what's different about this new release?
The original is definitely being re-released by Network on October 4th, 2010. Great news!

I remember watching this back in the seventies and can remember it was shown as a two part series containing six episodes each if I remember correctly so I wonder if the new DVD contains both parts, it does state complete series but could refer to the first only.

Yes, there were two series. The 2nd one was called 'Another Bouquet'. They're releasing that one separately.

That is great news. However, looking at the running time, it can only be Bouquet Of Barbed Wire on release. With any luck Network won't have cut Deborah Grant's burn-up scene on the M4! I can only think they cut that because of music copyright as Simon & Garfunkel's The Boxer is playing on the car radio. It's one of my favourite scenes too. Yet Hold On To Love by Peter Skellern is playing when Deborah returns to Manson's office to be told some bad news by Rupert in the final episode! A similar thing happened to Deborah's scenes with James Aubrey in Another Bouquet. It's hugely disappointing.
I don't understand why they're not releasing both series though. Hope there are plenty of special features. I'd love to hear the cast do audio commentaries. Especially Deborah!

On refection of James Aubrey's death I'm finding Gavin's savage portrayal in the remake especially hard to bear.

I just switched it off. So bad. Couldn't understand a word the new Gavin says. Didn't he go to drama school and learn about diction?
I have the double DVD that was released a few years ago. That definitely has the Peter Skellern song. Don't remember The Boxer song or whether they edited it out, though I remember the great scene of Sarah speeding down the motorway. I actually know that road.
I don't think Network are very good at extras. Maybe be someone could track down some of the stars and interview them and post it on youtube. A fan of the film Bicyclettes De Belsize was so annoyed that there were no extras on the DVD he did just that.

The scene where Deborah Grant is racing down the M4 with a cop car in pursuit in episode 6 is definitely edited. If you play the DVD you will see immediately after Frank Finlay and Eric Carte talk on the phone, the scene cuts to the police car stopping to speak to Deborah. That's just after she has turned the radio off. It irritates me every time I watch it because I love that scene.
