The sight of Dame Anna in the cockpit is enough to arouse my interest......

A stirring British film based on the life of Amy Johnson, won the hearts of the British public in the 1930s with her record-breaking solo flights around the world.

Amy's fame takes a toll on her marriage to fellow flyer Jim Mollison a daredevil in his own right who chafes at being overshadowed by his wife.

Starring: Anna Neagle, Robert Newton, Edward Chapman, Nora Swinburne and Joan Kemp-Welch

    Directed By: Herbert Wilcox

    Date of Release: 1942

It really is very good indeed and let's hope it sells enough copies to justify the release of some more Dame Anne films, Peg of Old Drury anyone ?

Surely the priority is a proper restoration of Lilacs in the Spring so that the first reel is in colour

I think the Captain is being ironic here, as the early scenes were filmed in black and white.....

However, it would be great to have a proper restoration of A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH with the entire film in colour......

Isn't that Martin Scorsese's next project?
