Good news! Both are well worth watching!
I spotted mention that this superb film is due for release by Odeon thanks to another forum. Amazon list it as appearing on September 6th though I can find nothing about it on the Odeon website, it is also listed in 'Reserve' status on Lovefilm. Also included is the Orson Welles short Return to Glenascaul.

The first segment about the people in the picture is particularly haunting.
Excellent news - particularly as I have mislaid my own copy of Glennascaul...LOL

Glennascaul was supposed to be on a DVD with Welles' Macbeth according to the packaging, the main reason I bought that version, but its return had been exaggerated! I think I still have a VHS copy of this from an off-air recording I made years ago.
BTW, is Three Cases of Murder not in fact a 1953 film?
At long last the classic "Three Cases Of Murder" is finally released next month!!!!This may have been mentioned before, but it is a cracking film especially the first story about the House in the painting with the wonderful Alan Badel.

Alan Badel features in all three stories I think, but, yes, the first story is particularly eerie. Loads of familiar faces in uncredited roles such as John Salew, Henry Oscar and Sherlock Holmes himself, Arthur Wontner.
It was one of those films that always seemed to be on TV at one time and then seemed to disappear without trace.
Yippee! Mine arrived this morning from Movie Mail UK (good prices, slowish delivery). I can't wait to see this again!

Unseen for many years, Three Cases of Murder and Return To Glennascaul are something of a treat for lovers of British film. The main feature is an excellent portmanteau in which the viewers imagination is challenged by the bizarre and macabre. A notable supporting cast of British actors includes John Gregson, Elizabeth Sellars, Andre Morell, Hugh Pryse, Eddie Byrne and the constant in all three shorts, Alan Badel.

Haven't seen this for decades - remember Seamus Android doing the links. Am looking forward to seeing this one.
