The Anatomist (1961) starring Alistair Sim is getting a DVD release on 29th November.

It is essentially a filmed play and the Bridie play is now very dated indeed. The filming is so dull it diminishes the performances of Sim, Cole, Ripper, Bennett et al - it is of historical importance only as the first TV movie made in this country.

I'm not up on the nature of bootlegging DVDs, but would Amazon, HMV and Moviemail be selling this if it was a bootleg?

You would hope not. I hope the print quality is better than my 'bootleg' copy !
