"Spirits of the Dead" aka "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" Finally gets a restored Blu Ray release in original English language version with Terence Stamp playing a drunken British film star in Rome making a pact with the Devil, its directed by Fellini based on an Edgar Allen Poe story, I saw this 30+ years ago and thought it was great, Im a big fan of Stamp and Fellini so Im looking forward to catching up with this again.

Couldn't they have done this for the DVD release a couple of months a go? Does any one know if that is going to get a re-release?

Well my blu ray copy arrived today and i've watched the Terence Stamp/Fellini section three times already, Its quite brilliant, I don't remember it being quite so compelling, Stamp gives quite a performance...the whole thing is a mind blowing visual/acting/cinematic feast ...Stamp and Fellini really should have worked together more.! Recommended.

Interesting comments. I have never seen this, but my bluray arrived yesterday and so I am looking forward to watching it. I'm a bit baffled about which soundtrack to have on though!

Watch the version that has Terence Stamp speaking English in his own voice, don't be thrown by his character's Italian speaking voiceover as his plane lands at Rome airport at the beginning of the film, from then on he speaks English, the point is that he is an Englishman in Rome who doesn't speak Italian so this version makes sense with everyone else speaking Italian to a confused Stamp while we have the benefit of subtitles for their dialogue.
