Bah! Humbug. I am the grumpy one here as I found his characterisations offensive and unfunny. Whereas Warren Mitchell's Alf Garnet mocked the working class right wing bigot and it worked Arthur Haynes' attempts at his character did not. In my opinion of course.

The Volume One set is terrific, I can't wait for Volume 2 in October :-)
that show on bbc4 with paul merton and nicholas parsons seems to be the only thing in the whole stations scheduling that isnt being repeated any time soon
