"Excellent" and amazing news to wake up to, dpgmel! Network's Forthcoming Releases was the last webpage I looked at before going to sleep and there was no sign of Spyder's Web.

The big news at the time was knowing that Yes - Honestly is on its way as well, but I did notice Spooner's Patch among the Latest Products. When I clicked the image of the cover it went back to Forthcoming Releases. Clearly, the page was still being updated as I was visiting it. The Good News doesn't stop there as the first volume of Six Days of Justice is imminent too! Exciting times.

A lovely, colourful cover featuring the main stars:

I was aware of this show's tragic history but mistakenly believed a few episodes were completely lost. In fact, 11 of the 13 episodes made survive only as black-and-white telerecordings, with just two existing in their original colour. Sad and cruel, but not wholly disastrous. Timeslip suffered a similar fate.

Of course, even worse tragedy was to follow with the death of Patricia Cutts two years later. I will still try to enjoy the series as best I can and also look forward to seeing Anthony Ainley in a different role than the Reverend Emilius (The Pallisers)!

my ten pence worth from memory

If I remember correctly Patricia Cutt's acting seemed out of style with the rest as if she had come from a different era and not moved on.
The other usual British problem of that era ie. money.
The series had ideas way beyond its budget, but a tribute to those crews once again for making do with what they had.

Just keep using the ointment I've only seen one episode of this Romance on Wheels, so as a miser I'll wait until the price drops now Shadow of Fear is another matter and even I might weaken.

I well remember this series and watched every one of the shows. I always found Pat Cutts style of acting a little stiff and I'm not sure if that was because she was a theatre actress? I have "Flying with Prudence" and in that she is much more natural. Another thing I do recall is that Spyders Web was first shown as a thriller type series but within a few weeks changed to comedy/thriller. Does any one remember that? I did at the time think she was wonderful opposite Anthony Ainley and the show was different to anything else on TV at the time. I will certainly be buying the set and would appreciate comments on picture and sound quality once you have seen the series.
