I preordered it last week when I spotted it; really hope this release happens.
Ken Russell's 1970 phantasia on the life of Tchaikovsky is finally gaining an official DVD release:
The Music Lovers 1970 DVD: Amazon.co.uk: Richard Chamberlain, Glenda Jackson, Christopher Gable, Izabella Telezynska, Max Adrian, Ken Russell: DVD
Not quite having the prestige that The Devils would bring, but nonetheless a move in the right direction.
I preordered it last week when I spotted it; really hope this release happens.
Savage Messiah and The Boy Friend (Director's Cut) are coming from Warner Archive as well.
The Music Lovers aka Russell's Vulgar Wet Dream
I don't think it is a vulgar film. Yes it is a bit near the knuckle at times but Richard Chamberlain, Glenda Jackson and Christopher Gable are brilliant in it and as with Russell's other composer biopics there is plenty of music to appreciate. Together with The Devils I think The Music Lovers represents Russell's greatest achievement.
