Thanks for promoting me Film Man....
I've already got a Blu-Ray DVD player thats less than a year old......
Are there different Blu-Ray players for different regions, or should they be able to play discs from anywhere in the world....?
    Cheers

Google the make & model along with the phrase "region free"
Most DVD players sold in the UK can play DVDs from any region - but the sellers often don't advertise this because they aren't sure if it's legal.

    Blu-ray uses a different region coding system. Blu-ray just divides the world into 3 zones A, B & C
Not all Blu-ray players can play discs from outside their zone.

The Technika BRSS10 player is a nice little Blu-ray / DVD / CD player that can play anything from any region or zone
Tesco online were selling them for about £50, but seem to have run out. Others might still be selling them for about the same price

Cheers Steve.......I looked up my Panasonic DMP-BD45 Blu-ray disc player, and Amazon are selling that model which is Region Free for £169.99....
But the same model which I bought less than 12 months ago only plays DVD's region 2 or "All".......but not Region 1..........
Rather wish now I had waited...... Incidentally the amp which is Denon.....says "Multi Region".
    Cheers

Just looking at the small print at Amazon....
"Multi Region" is only offered when you buy from Harrow Electronics.......
    Rather strange....

It means that Harrow Electronics will "chip" it and modify it internally so that it is multi-region.
That's how I got my old Panasonic DVD player done. I don't have to enter different codes via the remote. It just plays everything :thumup1:

Quite possibly. But you don't have to go to Harrow to collect it. They use this new invention called the postal service. It delivers to all parts of the British Empire, even Staffordshire
