I have just seen Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon in the just-released (and long-awaited) Blu-ray version. My disc is Region Free from Amazon.com which is issuing this as a single disc, not as part of the box-set which is now available in the UK. The Blu-ray transfer is totally exquisite, one of the finest I have ever seen, and a wonderful way of preserving what has always been one of the most beautiful films ever made.

It does indeed look absolutely gorgeous - it knocks spots off the old DVD release. There's been a bit of a kerfuffle about the aspect ratio, but it looked fine in 16:9.
