An interesting TV curiosity just annouced by Network, dating from the early 60's and starring Gerald Flood.
Does anyone remember this at all ?
Pathfinders in Space Omnibus (The): Network DVD
I'm sure they know what they're doing but 31st Demeber seems a slightly bonkers release date![]()
I vaguely remember Graydon Gould as an American astronaut in one story asking a native (alien) girl for some food.
Why that should linger in my mind I have no idea! I was very young but I recall some of it scared the hell out of me.
I remember it in the Sunday tea time slot.
Particularly Parthfinders to Mars, and the quick growing plants.
As a very young child I recall being really worried that they were stuck in Space and would be unable to return to Earth, but of course they did!
The other show I remember in that tea time slot was Counter Attack, about the Germans invaling the Channel Isles.
I notice that episodes of all three series were scripted by none other than Eric Paice, Graydon Gould is only credited with appearing in Pathfinders in Venus at IMDb, although details for the programme are far from complete. I'm afraid it's a similar story with my TVTimes collection from that period and I was unable to find the episode you described, unfortunately. But I am pleased you have the chance to see it again
I have just posted the original TVTimes preview for you, hatpeg, at the forgotten show's thread:

Thanks Cornershop, It would be great if it was released on DVD.
I remember it started on Sunday 17th January, and was also very scarey to a young child like me!
I expect, viewed now, the style would look quite dated, but I would love to see it.
I just finished the first serial and am looking forward to the next two. A review had called it "Quatermass for kids" and I would pretty much agree, though I didn't really see that in scope until the last two or three episodes. Quite good stuff!
