Due for release on 31 October 2011.
And with a bonus! 'Randle & All That' 1945
Thank you Renown and looking forward to another classic DVD from you.
Wonderful to read that you were involved in the team and I expect you have some memories. Also good to know film fans will be enjoying the film all over again..
This film was shown on tv years ago and I’m afraid I was forced to abandon it then. Whether a second opportunity to view it will change my mind is uncertain. Being a Lancastrian, I do ‘get’ Frank Randle and enjoy some of his films but he is very much an acquired taste. I wonder what American-born Diana Decker, who appears in this film, made of the great man.
I just wanted thank Renown for a wonderful DVD of ‘When you come home’ which we really enjoyed watching along with the bonus short ‘Randle & all that’ which was of exceptional picture quality. Well done to you!
Another we would love to see get a commercial release is ‘Somewhere in Civvies’ another Butchers film with some hilarious scenes from Frank Randle.
Interesting: "One of two films made by Frank Randle while in dispute with John E. Blakeley, though it is often mistaken for a Blakeley production", says IMDB. I did wonder if it was a Mancunian production, I had assumed Frank never filmed outside the North West, but this one was made at Nettlefold in Surrey! The other one was "Somewhere in Civvies" in 1943, apparently - and NOT part of the "Somewhere in..." series.
Hi.
All three of these were distributed by Butchers Film Service.
Somewhere in Civvies 1943
Home Sweet Home 1945
When you Come Home 1948
It would be great to have Somewhere in Civvies available from Renown.
Hi Mr P, the middle one was a Mancunian Co-production, John E. was involved.
