1977mins and 12 discs if it's the full set?
My latest Music & Memories offers a 6 hour 33 minutes 3 DVD set from the BBC which INCLUDES...they then give 8 titles which suggests there are, in fact, even more than 8 in the set. The set costs £10-99.
How is this possible? This suggests, if there are 8 titles, that the average length is about 50 minutes!! Of David Copperfield! Of Our Mutual Friemd! Of Oliver Twist! etc etc...
1977mins and 12 discs if it's the full set?
I think the wording from M & M must be fantastically misleading because it appears to spell out that you are buying a set which includes 8 titles whereas, if you look at the cover shown, there are only 3 titles mentioned.
I've come across this before with M&M. On their Likely Lads DVD they say something like the complete collection of episodes whereas they mean "which still exist" as the majority were wiped ages ago...
Thanks, jaycad.
Yes,I've seen many mis-described DVD contents myself! There are very few BBC Dickens adaptations that are under two hours long so six hours for three adaptations is unlikely! If you're thinking of getting the set then the pros are the inclusion of 'Martin Chuzzlewit' and 'Great Expectations' which are unavailable on these shores as a single unit, the cons being the dutch subtitles on a couple of titles but a good set overall.
