Network has LOVE IN A COLD CLIMATE. Has anyone seen the series? What did you think of it? It's not that costly, and I'm tempted to get it. Thanks.

It's got a very good reputation (mostly, I suspect, because of the casting of Judi Dench and Michael Williams) and some splendid performances (Michael Aldridge is terrific) but it does, IMO, go on rather with people describing scenes in great detail that you then see and the last couple of episodes drag a bit. And the three young leads are all very dull. I enjoyed it but I wish it could have been an episode shorter (just as I wish the version with Alan Bates could have been an episode longer )

Yes I remember it the same. the Alan Bates version was terrific. Also I've come to the conclusion having just watched The Browning Version with Judi Dench that she always plays....Judi Dench!

Thanks, Captain and Windy. Much appreciate the assessments.
