Network are releasing The Tyrant King one of Thames TV's first drama serials for teenagers in 1968.
Was was only ever shown once despite being made in colour.
A mystical tale that has the background of psychedelic London mixed in with the sounds of The Moody Blues,The Nice and Cream

My Network DVD 'The Tyrant King' arrived yesterday and I wasted no time in watching all 6 episodes. I really enjoyed the story, the London locations as well as the music. Over the 6 episodes you can expect to hear the following musical excerts;
Pink Floyd - Astronomy Domine (From LP Piper at The Gates of Dawn) released August 1967
- Pow R. Toc H (From LP Piper at The Gates of Dawn)
- Let There Be More Light (From LP A Saucerful of Secrets) released June 1968
- Corporal Clegg (From LP A Saucerful of Secrets)
Moody Blues - Dr Livingstone I Presume (From LP In Search of The Lost Chord) released July 1968 & also the B-side of their August 1968 7" release Voices in The Sky
- Legend of a Mind (From LP In Search of The Lost Chord)
- House of Four Doors (From LP In Search of The Lost Chord)
The Nice - Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack (From LP Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack) released December 1967
- Tantalising Maggie (From LP Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack)
- Dawn (From LP Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack)
- Diamond Hard Blue Apples of the Moon - B-side to their July 1968 7" release America
Cream - Passing The Time (From LP Wheels of Fire) released August 1968
- As You Said (From LP Wheels of Fire)
- Sunshine of Your Love (From LP Disreali Gears) released November 1967 & their single released October 1968
Rolling Stones - She's Like A Rainbow
Tim Andrews - Something about Suburbia
The Casuals - Jesamine
One of the best Network DVD releases IMHO
Thanks for the info! That definitely sounds like my type of thing. Have to put it on my wish list straight away.
My only, slight, niggle with thbis release is the " novelty " packaging- the shape and size of a CD case rather than your standard DVD size( actually perhaps I need to get a life
)....
