I've had this on my Amazon wishlist for ages at £35.97.

Does this ever go on sale at a bargain price, or should I just bite the bullet?

Apologies if my question is in the wrong place.

Yes - it's been below £30 before now. The cheapest at the moment seems to be £31:97:

HMV have it listed at a pound cheaper but it's out of stock. The prices have remained fairly steady since the fire last year though so I wouldn't expect it to go much lower.

It is worth buying at that price, IMO. Original RRP was around £100 and there are 16 discs.

    Geoffrey,
I bought this in 2008 from Amazon for the then reduced price of around £50 and even though there are naturally one or two clunky episodes across the 16 discs, on the whole it's a really great series. I went through the whole box set of 44 episodes pretty fast by watching at least one (sometimes 2 episodes a night at weekends ) and like many of us on this forum I just love revisiting the old faces and great character actors from 70's TV. It didn't do any harm either that the delightful Susan Penhaligon would pop up at regular intervals throughout the series!
I would take advantage of the low price and immerse yourself!

Do it Geoffrey - the 1970s fashion's worth the price of the ticket alone

i bought this years ago for something like £30 from play.com
    its well worth buying
some stories are dated with iffy acting and everything
    others are still good today
i remebered the one about the haunted rolls royce from watching it as a child at the time
it was great to see it again
