I see that this film is being released in January 2008, it is currently advertised on Amazon. Does anyone know who is releasing it??
It was included in September in the ITV Digital ICONS - Diana Dors box set, so I am suprised it is getting another release.... There are plenty more Diana Dors films that could be released.... Paul Diana Dors |

Glad to hear it. It was one of the first that gave Dors a chance to show she could act - and wasn't just another blonde and that she could handle a leading role in a dramatic film

I have to say I do agree with Paul, whilst Yield To The Night is for many Diana Dors's best film, there does seem a tendency for different companies to release the same films. Some of her other films deserve a proper release how about The Long Haul from 1957, Tread Softly Stramger from 1958, West 11 from 1963, Worm's Eye View from 1951, Mrs Gibbons Boys from 1962 and Passport To Shame from 1959.

I watched The Long Haul recently and felt that Diana gave an excellent performance as Patrick Allen's 'moll'. This is another very under rated film and I agree with Joe that it deserves a proper release.

'Yield To The Night' is without doubt her finest film, but I think 'A Kid For Two Farthings' is another DD performance that deserves a mention; it's a lovely movie, and Diana is absolutely gorgeous in it.

Is there any mention of any extras on the Yield to the Night DVD commentaries or such like...? Though I would imagine none of the cast/crew are still with us to add extras Last edited by A Pemberton; 30-11-2007 at 09:41 PM. Reason: Second thoughts............... |

Absolutely!.......though I was saddened by the death of the Unicorn.......I see Sidney Tafler, and am I correct in thinking that is Brenda DeBanzie next to Diana?

Press release: “Compelling, gripping and left me shaken” - Daily Express Nominated for both the Palme D’Or and Best Film at the BAFTAS, Yield to the Night saw Dors subvert her rather superficial image as nothing more than a blonde bombshell in the role of Mary Hilton: a woman used and abused by men all her life until one day she snaps and murders her lover’s new mistress. With plot details borrowed from the infamous Ruth Ellis hanging barely a year before, the film proved a controversial and interesting addition to the capital punishment debate, as well as Dors’ worth as a fine dramatic actress. Extras: none Cert: 15 Running Time: 95 mins approx Region 2 Aspect Ratio: B&W / PAL Mono Cat No: OPTD1128 English Language RRP: £12.99
