Surely you can return it as 'not fit for purpose' as you bought it thinking that you were getting the re-released 5 disc set, and this set is not what you wanted. I'd drop PLAY a line to discuss this. I find in such situations that it nudges them a bit if you remind them how long you been a customer/potential loss of orders (etc.) if they become a bit reluctant.
IIRC 'fit for purpose' is still enshrined in UK consumer law (Sale of Goods Act, specifically.)
