All of Alan Garner's children's books should be filmed. They should be more filmable now with CGI than when he wrote them. I read them all as a lad and they were all most engrossing, even if quite scary.
The Weirdstone of Brisingamen, The Moon of Gomrath, Elidor and this one, The Owl Service. They taught me about Alderley Edge long before it became more famous as the residence of any footballers Steve |

I think they would make great films - just reading Red Shift which is great. I wonder if film-makers might consider them a bit 'demanding' these days. The great things about his books is that they're set in everyday, realistic situations and grounded. Most mythic stuff these days always seems Disney-fied and decorated.
